Day Three visits Pawside Veterinary Practice a full year in. The system is running. The team is trained. Orders are going out on time. But Dr. Torres has a new question: “Is this actually working? How do I know if we’re doing well – or just doing fine?”
This is the question that separates good inventory management from great inventory management. Session Three is for practices that are operational and want to optimize. We move into the performance tier of inventory management: establishing meaningful goals, identifying and tracking the right key performance indicators, interpreting your data, and building a culture of continuous improvement around inventory.
Using the Pawside one-year audit as our on-screen case study, participants will learn to calculate and interpret critical inventory metrics including turn rate, carrying cost, gross margin return on investment (GMROI), controlled substance compliance rates, and shrinkage percentages. We will also explore what to do when the data tells you something surprising — including how to have productive conversations with vendors, ownership, and team members when the numbers demand change. Participants will receive a downloadable strategic planning template and performance dashboard framework to take back to their practice immediately.
