This course provides equine veterinarians with an evidence-based overview of regenerative/orthobiologic therapies currently available for the treatment of musculoskeletal disease in horses. Participants will review the biologic rationale, mechanisms of action, and current clinical evidence supporting the use of mesenchymal stem cells, platelet-rich plasma (PRP), autologous conditioned serum (ACS/IRAP), autologous protein solution (APS), alpha-2-macroglobulin (A2M), and amnion-derived products. The session will discuss the strengths and limitations of each therapy, highlight practical considerations for product selection, and examine the quality of available evidence to support clinical decision-making. Attendees will gain a practical framework for selecting appropriate orthobiologic therapies while recognizing the importance of rehabilitation and evidence-based patient management.
