This lecture will address what functional nutrition is, it’s benefits to the patients, and how to integrate it into veterinary practice. It will give examples of how integrative modalities can expand their treatment options and be a complement to traditional veterinary medicine, improving patient outcomes. It will discuss the importance of nutrition and its relationship with the health of the body as well as how supplementing with whole food supplements can provide additional support to the body as a whole, but also specific systems. Learning Objectives: 1. Attendees will learn about the value of integrating functional foods and supplements into their protocols to improve patient outcomes. 2. Ideas will be shared on how to integrate various modalities that can complement their current practices. 3. Finally, they will learn of some foods and supplement ingredients to consider for supporting their patient’s health
