This training begins with a half-day review of anesthesia and monitoring best practices. A veterinary technician specialist in anesthesia will walk you through efficiently operating and maintaining your equipment for optimal performance and troubleshooting patient alarms.
After lunch, your team will participate in an anesthesia skills simulation lab where a proprietary software monitoring program provides immediate feedback for clinical decisions through corresponding changes in vital signs. Each scenario is designed to enhance team communication, critical thinking and sound medical responses to common situations encountered in anesthetic cases, including equipment failure, hypotension, hypercapnia and cardiac arrhythmia.
Learning objectives:
– Identify and manage anesthetic complications in your patients.
– Recognize and respond to changes in blood pressure, CO2 and cardiac arrhythmias, leading contributors to anesthetic emergencies.
– Increase confidence in operating and maintaining your anesthesia and monitoring equipment.
– Practice communicating effectively in surgical situations and managing stress for better outcomes.
– Level-set your clinical team on best practices in anesthetic case management
